Lighthouse organizes a successful trade mission of Brazilian footwear producers to Russia

11 Brazilian companies-producers of footwear visited Moscow on a trade mission between 7th and 11th of June 2014, promoted by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).

In the framework of the trade mission Lighthouse organized a seminar on "Doing business in Russia" focusing on such subjects as Russia's current economic situation, local consumption habits, opportunities for Brazilian footwear, business formats, logistics, certification, and communication. Lighthouse took the group on shop tours of the market, in order to understand how retail outlets position children and adult footwear in Russia.

The central event of the trade mission was a three day showroom with scheduled visits of Russian customers. Lighthouse organized the matchmaking between 11 Brazilian footwear companies and 30 Russian retail chains and wholesalers and distributors. The matchmaking proved to be very successful for all Brazilian participants, who established many new contacts, closed first orders and discussed potential long-term cooperation with Russian partners.

The Russian companies were pleased with the results of the showroom and emphasized the importance of establishing direct contacts with Brazilian footwear manufacturers.
